Trailer of the week goes hands down to Arkham City, if watching that doesn't get you pumped to play that game then you probably don't own a console that can play it. Superb.
Batman: Arkham City - The Joker Isn't Playing Games
This sequel is going to deliver. BIG.
Disney Universe - Suit Up!
I'm a sucker for Disney, alright?
Assassin's Creed: Revelations - Multiplayer Is Back
I'm not sure if the dubstep circle and the "interested in history" circles overlap much on the venne diagram of demographics but Ubisoft are trying, I suppose.
Serious Sam 3: BFE - More Rich Knuckles
This guy is seriously excited about Serious Sam. It's infectious!
Resident Evil 4 HD - Launch Trailer
Resident Evil 4. With achievements. So... Happy...
Final Fantasy XIII-2
"Despair" Trailer
"Promise" Trailer
Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken - "Jetpaction"
Caution: Will cause you to buy game.
Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning - A Hero's Guide
Claudia Black talking about well-written fantasy? Count me in!
Burnout: Crash - The Hoff
Bet you didn't think you'd be seeing this when you woke up this morning...
So Valve's original plan with DOTA 2 was to have a looooooong closed beta and then release the game sometime in the next year when it's ready and bug-free, but that plan has changed now, and definitely for the better. The plan now is to just release the game in it's current state and slowly make the necessary improvements to the game over time. There will be an invite-only period at first but hopefully that won't last too long. Being a League Of Legends fan I'm eager to play DOTA 2 for myself, and see what all the fuss is.
Won't be long now until you can use swirly water dog to beat firey hair lady
Diablo III Release Window Confirmed?
If you were wondering when you were going to get to own Diablo III for yourself, then apparently it's going to be with you in early 2012, about 6 months away! Now obviously this is Blizzard, so take it with a grain of salt, especially as Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime said the following:
"With every game we make, the temptation is always very strong to launch as soon as possible. However, we didn't put so many years of work into Diablo III to release a game that was almost ready"
So there you, hardly iron-clad, but it's something, I guess...
I love a short wait! Which is why me and Blizzard have such complicated relationship
PS3 To Get Battlefield 3 DLC First
The war between Xbox and PS3 to get DLC first has been going on for a while, mostly centring around the various Call Of Dutys, and always with Xbox getting the DLC first, so Playstation have rather sneakily poached Battlefield 3 DLC so that PS3 owners will get it before Xbox owners. Granted, it's only a week before, but it's better than nothing... probably.
Blowing shit up looks goooooooood
Enslaved Sequel Will Almost Definitely Never Happen
Enslaved was quite a big surprise last year, it came out of nowhere and made alot of shortlists for game of the year, so it's kind of a downer to hear no sequel is planned, and probably never will be. Apparently hardly anyone bought the game, which is admittedly a shame but can happen with such niche titles. I guess this is one of those things you chalk up as our fault. Damn us consumers!
The Makers Of Dark Souls Will Kill You If You Break The Street Date
Reports are coming out of Japan that From Software, the makers of Dark Souls, are trolling the shit out of gamers who have managed to get the game early. The story goes that instead of complaining about the accounts in question, the makers of the game decided to use the game's mechanics to their advantage and take control of level 145 "Black Phantoms" to totally murder anybody playing the game. If you know anything about the Souls games, you know they're acclaimed as the hardest games ever made, with it taking days worth of play time to gain even a quarter of level 145. So be warned, if you play Dark Souls before you're supposed, be ready for a damn fight!
Poor Dark Souls players, they've got enough shit to worry about without this
Mass Effect Movie Details Come Out - Are Good And Bad
We've known for a while that a Mass Effect movie was on the cards, but until now it was just floating aroud in the ether, threatening to be awful and forcing me into a spiralling depression. But details have emerged which make me nervously excited. Apparently the movie will feature the male version of Shepard, won't feature Seth Green as Joker and has both Dr. Greg and Dr. Ray (the co-founders of Bioware) assisting with writing the story. Sounds very encouraging, but then we also learnt that Bioware are going to "allow plot/character changes" which has me scared to death. Welllll, maybe that's a little bit strong, Legendary Pictures are co-producing the movie and they have a pretty strong track record, also co-producing all 3 Nolan Batman films, Inception and Watchmen, and although I hated all those films, I find id hard to forsee a world where I don't like a Mass Effect with the same level of polish those films do. Call me excited!
I honestly see no way this film can be bad... I'm going to get my heart broken, aren't I?...
We'll Be Playing Battlefield 3 This Time Next Week!
On a slow news day only 1 story caught my eye... Or rather, both my eyes, my ears, my face and my sphincter. The Battlefield 3 beta will start next week. Wow, even just typing that felt pant-changingly good. The beta starts on the 29th, but if you've pre-order the game on Origin, or if you bought a limited edition copy of Medal Of Honour last year (which you didn't) then you can play the beta 2 days early. I'm excited to take part, especially because I get to try the game out on my laptop and my Xbox, though the beta will also be coming to PS3. To remind you what you'll be missing if you don't take part, take a gander below.
Also...
There's been some extra content aside from news gone up in the last few days. I posted my review of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and we've got 2 new articles up for your perusla aswell. Enjoy!
Assassin's Creed Will Also Come With The Original On PS3
Assassin's Creed fans out there (you know who you are...) will be probably completely uninterested to hear that the sequel to the game you like, will also contain the game you like! (and almost definitely already own.) The game will come on the same disc as Revelations, probably only on PS3 because of how much more a Blu Ray can hold compared to a regular DVD. The game will come out on November 15th for PS3, Xbox 360 and probably PC?...
Fall!!! God I hate Assassin's Creed...
DC Universe: Online To Join The Free-to-play Club
DC Universe: Online came out a few months ago and I heard mixed things about it. It was developed for PC and PS3 simultaneously so was more action orientated to fit with coming out on consoles, which upset some MMO fans. As you can imagine, the game wasn't all that popular, which is probably why it's going free-to-play so soon. If you want to keep paying you can, and you get some bonuses compared to free users... although in my opinion not enough to justify your hard earned. If you pay you get more character slots, more inventory slots and more bank slots. If you're free you can't use the auction house and get pretty much everything else limited, including the maximum money your character can have (yup, seriously). So enjoy! I'm looking forward to giving this a go.
Fight crime alongside Batman??? If you weren't pumped before, you should be now!
Trailer Of the Week goes to not-a-trailer Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Though the 3 videos are technically a demo, they have to win. That game looks so good! Although Asura's Wrath VERY NEARLY won out. Watch the Asura's Wrath trailer and giggle with glee, like I did.
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - E3 Gameplay Demo
Have you been wondering how awesome Skyrim's going to be? No need to wonder anymore! It's gonna be hella awesome!
Part 1:
Part 2:
Part 3:
Serious Sam: BFE - Rich Knuckles Is Mental
I love a bonkers trailer. I love this trailer.
Trine 2 - The Environments Of Trine 2
Must... Not... Cry...
Dead Or Alive 5 - Reveal Trailer
Fighting games are still a threat
Battlefield 3 - Xbox 360 Gameplay Footage
The game looks nowhere near as good on 360 as PC, but that was always going to be the case. Still looks good though.
Tokyo Game Show 2011 Trailers
Super Mario 3D Land - Tanooki Suit TGS 2011 Trailer
Something about this game rubs me the wrong way...

Looks to be a fun handhled puzzle game. It's for the Vita.
Gravity Rush - TGS 2011 Trailer
The Japanese name for this game is (no joke): Gravity Daze: The Perturbation Born In Her Inner Space On The Way Back To The Higher Spheres. so yeah... Deal with that.
Diablo III Skill Calculator Will Give You A Headstart On The Addiction
Are you looking forward to Diablo III? Looking forward to it so much you can't wait to start planning your character right away? Well Blizzard know their fans, and you'll be pleased to know that as of now, you can completely plan out your characters' skills, passives and rune allocations on the Diablo III skill calculator! Diablo fans rejoice! The rest of us can try (and fail) to wrap our heads around the advantages of choosing Zombie Charger over Locust swarm (if there are any).
Portal, one of the best games ever made, is available for free for the next few days on Steam. The offer lasts until September 20th so get it soon. It's being made free as part of the Learn With Portals program by Valve, in order to spark the imagination of students worldwide. If you've never played Portal before, or even if you have a slight intention to own a decent laptop and play it at some point in the future, get a Steam account and get it for free now, while you still can!
The Tokyo Game Show is going on right now, and Nintendo had a press conference where loads of new 3DS stuff got announced, so much in fact that going into detail about them all would make this post mah-assive. So instead, here's a nice summary:
Nintendo Circle Pad Add-on Dated And Priced
It will come out on December 10th and be priced at ¥1,500, or $19 (which comes to just over £12... which is actually mentally cheap!)
3DS Model In Pink Coming
It'll be out in Japan in October, no word on the rest of the world yet though
Nintendo To Add 3D Video Capture In November
The update will let you capture 3D footage and watch it on the 3DS. Definitely cool. The November update will also add new things to do if you've worn out all your Streetpass quests.
More Games Than Just Monster Hunter To Use Circle Pad Add-on
Games confirmed so far are Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, Resident Evil: Revelations, Ace Combat 3D Cross Rumble, Dynasty Warriors VS and Kingdom Hearts 3D.
New Square Enix Game Coming To 3DS
The game is an RPG and will be called, believe it or not, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy
Kid Icarus Not Out This Year
Bit of a shocker this one, as the game was one of the first 3DS titles announced and probably odds on favourite to be available at launch. It'll be out in 2012.

Zelda 25th Anniversary Present To Us Is Four Swords For Free!
The Legend Of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures is somewhat of a cult classic, a 4-player Zelda game that shouldn't of worked but did. The game's stumbling block was that everyone playing needed a GBA and a GBA Gamecube adapter in order to take part, but that stumbling block is gone with the downloadable DSiWare version of the game, coming out in the next few weeks. The game will support wireless multiplayer, have a new single player mode and be completely free. You can download the game between September 28th and February 20th. Enjoy! I know I will!
The game should work amazingly on handhelds
PS Vita Release Date Announced
For those of you excited about getting a Vita, Japan will have them on December 17th and had loads of ports announced for it: Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3, Street Fighter X Tekken, Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection and Zone Of The Enders HD. Some new titles for the system were also announced: a new Lumines, Dynasty Warriors, Rayman Origins, Michael Jackson: The Experience and loads of Japanese titles.
Sorry guys, it's been a dry few days as far as anything exciting happening in the games industry goes, aside from a few pretty cool trailers (although you can still check back on Sunday for those, as usual). I've been playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution and hey, that game's long! A lot longer than I thought it would be (hence no review yet *sad face*)... but also alot better than I thought it would be. I can definitely recommend it to anybody with a Lovefilm or heaps of money to whittle your weekend away with.
Ah, screw it, you know what, you've been good, you can have this one a little early:
