Sony Take Down PSN... But Don't Worry Your Pretty Little Head About It
Have you gone to log onto PSN today to play some games and found that it was down? Were you terrified by that? I don't blame you! But fear not, for it was all under control. Sony just had to take the service down, something to do with patches. I'd expect this to happen quite alot in the next few weeks, as they continue to pile on the security, and while it's probably mega annoying atleast tyou know your shit isn't gonna get stolen again. Overall I'd say it's worth the inconvenience, but then again I can always just play on Xbox Live so my viewpoint is somewhat skewed.
One thing nobody can deny: the PS3's background is sexy as hell!
A Countdown On The Carmageddon Website Reveals... A New Carmageddon!
The new game will be called Carmageddon: Reincarnation (I added the emphasis on "car" myself. Geddit?!) and will be a downloadable game made by Stainless Games, the team behind the well-received (by me) Xbox Live Arcade games Magic: The Gathering and Risk: Factions. Stainless co-founder and Executive Director had the following to say:
"Carmageddon: Reincarnation will feature the same black humour and comic violence that made the original game such a success. All the laughs, the crazy power-ups, and extreme destruction will return. We will make sure the existing fans get what they want and expect from a Carmageddon game, and a new generation discovers the delights of sliding into a Cunning Stunt."
If that doesn't convey the tone of carmageddon nothing will... except maybe the image below...

Gearbox Are Gonna Make The "True Sequel" To Aliens!
Aliens: Colonial Marines has been a title that's been thrown around for years, never quite getting to the point of actually being made... until now! Gearbox (whom can do no wrong in my eyes right now) have decided that if a good Aliens game is gonna get made, they're the only ones we can trust to do it! Apparently the game will feature drop-in-drop-out 4 person multiplayer, customisable weapons and areas from the movie. Though we've not seen anything from the game yet (but, again, maybe at E3!) the fact that there's a new Alien film due to be coming out some time next year definitely lends creedence to the game's existence and, let's be honest, we can count on gearbox to make this game fucking awesome.

Rockstar To Release L.A. Noire DLC Season Pass
So here's how it'll work, Rockstar will release 4 DLC cases for L.A. Noire, each one costing around £3, BUT, if you buy the "Season Pass" it'll only cost you £6 and you'll get all 4 of the extra DLC cases! Seems like a good deal to me! If they'd had one of these last year for Mass Effect 2 I would have been in on it no doubt, so if you're ultra passionate anout L.A. Noire then you're laughing! 2 cases ("A Slip of the Tongue." and "The Naked City.") will be released very soon, with "Nicholson Electroplating Disaster" following on June 21st and "Reefer Madness" wrapping it all up on July 12th.

Seems like you'll be able to do pretty much everything, from browsing games, to buying games, to downloading demos, to redeeming voucher codes. Vita. No, It's Not A Cream For Vaginal Dryness, It's Sony's Next Handheld!
Technically it's not actually been confirmed yet, but all sources point to the (now former) NGP transforming into the much more comical sounding Playstation Vita! For those who don't know already, the NGP will boast PS3(ish) graphics, a touch screen on the back and dual-analog sticks. Should be a pretty exciting console, though only history will tell if it turns out to be a success, especially going up against the 3DS. The pricing will be the key there, which we hope will come out at E3. That's right, it's my daily reminder that E3 is gonna be AWESOME!!!

It's been a slow ass weekend for games (which suits me just fine because I've got Starcraft 2 and L.A. Noire to play!) so I'm sorry I haven't updated the site in a few days.
I was going to write a full review for Lego Star Wars III but I don't think I can motivate myself when L.A. Noire is just sitting in my Xbox waiting to be finished. I might do it in work tomorrow, but don't tell anybody...

If you live in any Asian country but Korea and Hong Kong, then first of all you'll never see this post, and secondly, you now can play your PS3 games online again! Plus you'll get free games and 30 days of free Playstation Plus like everyone else! The only bummer is that if you do live in Korea or Hong Kong there's no set date, Sony will only say that you'll get PSN back when it's ready. Very nicely put...
Hulk Hogan Kinect Game In The Works... No Really
Majesco are making a wrestling game starring Hulk Hogan for Kinect... I'll let the press release do the talking:

The Wii version of HOTD:O was pretty well received and actually looked kinda cool, so a Playstation Move enabled version has definite promise. For those that don't know, House Of The Dead is an on-the-rails shooter set in various locales inhabited by zombies. You shoot their faces off and score points. What makes it kinda cool is that it has a good sense of humour and will, most likely, be mega cheap after about a month of being out!

First Mortal Kombat DLC Tweeted By Ed Boon
According to Boon the first DLC for the game will be a collection of all the classic costumes for the characters aswell as the classic fatalities those costumes come with. This is awesome as the only way to get any of these was to pre-order the game from certain retailers, meaning that you could only really get 1 of these at a time. The costumes and fatalities are gonne be for Sub Zero, Scorpion, Ermac, Jade, Kitana, Mileena and Reptile. That's quite a lot of content for just 1 DLC pack, plus, this story is an excuse to post another Mortal Kombat screenshot!

At Konami's pre-E3 press conference this year expect a little something-something from Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima! Plus, he said that on June 2nd there will also be a few surprises. It's logical to assume that it wont be Metal Gear Solid: Rising as the word "surprise" implies something nice and new. Well, whatever it is I'm sure I won't be able to follow the story for 2 seconds.

Director David O. Russell appear to have dropped out (FUCK YEAH!) and probably taken Mark Wahlberg with him (FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!). Apparently the director dropped out for another project because the film was gonna be too much trouble. Fuck him, the film's better without his terrible ideas. Just stick Nathan Fillion in the lead role and the rest will happen on it's own. OOH! An excuse to put a picture of Nathan Fillion up!

Sony seem to think so. The console definitely has promise, but it all depends on the price point, so E3 could be essential to NGP's buzz. If they price the console anything over $500 then they're probably screwed but an enticing price and Sony could steal the handheld market from the under-performing 3DS. Either way (and I know I keep saying it, but...) E3 is gonna be awesome!

Ms. Splosion Man Co-op Beta Starts June 6th
A beta for an XBLa game?!? That's a pretty rare occurance right there, even rarer that it would be exclusively a co-op beta. Twisted Pixel know what they're doing though, being one of the most consistent developers on any of the downloadable services, they've pretty much not made a bad game yet. The best thing about this news is that they're wanting 10,000 players to test the game. 10,000 is a LOT. I really enjoyed the first Splosion and while a sequel may sound like more of the same doesn't mean I'm not gonna try and get in on this anyway... it's free!

Deathspank Sequel Is A Thing That's Happening
Named simple "The Baconing", the sequel to 2010's Deathspank (and Deathspank: Thongs Of Virtue) will feature lots of new characters and new weapons, kinda suggesting to me it will be set in a different area to the first game. Deathspank always looked to me like a game that wasn't as funny as it thought it was, and now legendary video game human being Ron Gilbert isn't even attached to the project my hopes aren't exactly high. The game will be out this summer... Which likely means I will be playing Earth Defence Force: Insect Armageddon instead of it.

Square Enix To Release Brand New MMO Some Time In The Future
The information came out during their earnings call from May 13thCurrently information is sparse but what we do know is that the game won't be based on an established Square Enix property (so it's not Final Fantasy XV). Square Enix MMOs aren't doing too well at the moment, so I wish them the best of luck in not making a shitty game.

The only reason this is really surprising is that Sony told developers last week that the store would probably be up this week. Grantedm they didn't say it definitely would be but still, why fill devs with false hope? It's a noodle scratcher. Whatever happens they've said that full services will have been returned by the end of the month. Just in time for E3.....

Want A Free Ghost Recon Game? Because You're Getting One.
Ubisoft announced today that before the end of the year you will be able to download and play Ghost Recon: Online for free. The game will obviously have a focus on multiplayer and will contain optional things to buy, probably just to spruce up your character like other Free-To-Play games. Expect a Beta soon, and if you want in on that, go to the game's official website.

PSN Still Down In Japan
Basically Sony just haven't given the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry enough info to make the Japanese government happy. They want more proof that Sony can be trusted with user's credit card information and that they can provide adequate compensation should another incursion occur. Tall order for Sony but I doubt it'll be long for Japan now.
Sony to kick off "PSP Remasters" with Monster Hunter 3 HD
Don't you just hate the PSP. So do Sony! But they love their PSP games, so they've decided to release them as downloadables on PS3! They're kicking it off with Monster Hunter which is MASSIVE in Japan (which doesn't have PSN yet...) and you can transfer the games between the PSP and PS3. All-in-all it's a smart move, especially because I hear alot of PSP games are very good (Monster Hunter, FFVII: Crisis Core etc.) so this tickles my fancy!

News of reboots of Legacy Of Kain and Carmageddon sort of came to light today. The Legacy Of Kain reboot isn't certain (coming from information gleaned from a survey taken by somebody called "devrabbit" on a forum) but Carmageddon seems likely, with apparently an independent benefactor funding the project. Either way, expect info on these 2 games at E3... if there's anything to report that is.

The Penguin will be joining the ranks of Batman's rogue gallery in Arkham City! More super villains means more fun in my opinion, so I'm psyched about it. I admit he's hardly the most imposing of Batman's enemies but he's fiendish, I look forward to seeing hos they make him a worthy opponent to fuck-hard Batman.

My awesome friend KENZI199 wrote an article about 3 great, lesser-known (and therefore cheap) DS games you can buy if you're finding the 3DS line-up as depressing as I am and I finally got round to writing a review of Mortal Kombat, late to the party I know but hopefully still welcomed in the front door instead of being shuffled round the side to be let in through the back.
metaphors analogous to my own childhood aside it should be business as usual tomorrow... who knows, maybe even business better than usual! Though probably not, if we're being honest.
